Journalists who were assassinated in Pakistan since 1994, their names, organization’s name and date of death.


Journalists who lost their lives in the line of duty can’t be counted in dozens but in hundreds. According to the report of UNESCO released in November 2015 stated that at least 109 journalists are killed since 2000 and thousands got serious injuries.This is the list of 57 killed journalists those deaths  were confirmed.

Just take a look which is at the top of the list and you will see politics. So the journalists who are covering politics are in more danger than who are covering crime.

Irshad Mastio was working for Online International News Network ARY News and was assassinated on August 28, 2014 in the capital of Balochistan Quetta, Pakistan.
• Ghulam Masood:
Ghulam Masood was also working for Online International News Network and was murdered on August 28, 2014, in Quetta, Pakistan
• Shan Dahar:
He was associated with Abb Takk Television, He was murederd on January 1, 2014, in Larkana, Pakistan

• Ayub Khatak:
He was associated with Karak times and lost his life on October 11, 2013, in Karak District, Pakistan

• Aslam Durrani:
He was a working journalist for Daily Pakistan and lost his life on April 16, 2013, in Peshawar, Pakistan

• Mirza Iqbal Hussain:
He was working with the News Network International and he was assassinated on January 10, 2013, in Quetta, Pakistan

• Saif ur Rehman:
Mr. Rehman was working with Samaa Television and was killed on January 10, 2013, in Quetta, Pakistan

• Imran Shiekh:
Mr. Sheikh was a working journalist for SAMAA TV who lost his life on January 10, 2013, in Quetta, Pakistan

• Saqib Khan:
Saqib Khan was working for daily Ummat from Karachi Pakistan and assassinated on November 22, 2012, in Karachi, Pakistan

• Rehmatullah Abid:
He was working for dunya news TV, Intikhaab and murdered on November 18, 2012, in Panjgur, Balochistan, Pakistan

• Mushtaq Khand:
He was working with Dharti Television Network and been shot on October 7, 2012, in Khairpur, Pakistan
